The Creative Process

  1. Intent – An idea strikes
  2. Explore – Link thoughts
  3. Action – Research and organize
  4. Evaluate – Refinement and testing
  5. Display – Present for use

In other words, a thought has potential which causes analysis leading to an interest peaking concept and drives you to research options. The result may be intangible or a physical object styled for your needs.

INTRO

It is difficult for me to look around and not feel inquisitive about what I see and hear. I am constantly scanning the scene and appealing situations get recorded in my pocket notebook as text or sketches. When a notebook is full I begin a new one and keep on going. These journals become a great source of information for my projects. My dreams also divulge many concepts as a result of what I am thinking or doing on a daily basis. I keep my notebook close at hand 24/7. Side note: Since I go through so many notebooks I finally decided to make them. The cardboard covers are made from recycled cereal boxes and the paper is just standard white printer paper. Over time I developed the perfect size to fit in a t-shirt pocket. Why spend $13 for a Moleskin? Homemade cost is about 20¢ and 15 minutes.
